In short: Shift Ledger has no account, no sign-in and no server. Your shifts, pay rules and payslip figures are stored on your device only and are never uploaded to us. We cannot see them, and we have no ability to retrieve them. The one exception is the data Google's ads SDK collects in the free version, described under Advertising below.
What we collect
We collect nothing. Shift Ledger has no account, no sign-in and no server. Your shifts, pay rules and payslip figures are stored on your device only and are never uploaded to us. We cannot see them, and we have no ability to retrieve them. The one exception is the data Google's ads SDK collects in the free version, described under Advertising below.
When data leaves your device
Otherwise, only when you choose to send it: exporting a backup file, or sharing a report through your own apps, sends it wherever you pick, and you select the destination each time. In the free version, Google's ads SDK also sends the advertising data described below. None of your shift or pay data is included.
Local storage is not encryption
Because everything is local, uninstalling the app deletes your records — export a backup if you want to keep them. Anyone who can unlock your device, or read an unencrypted device backup, can read your shift data.
Purchases
Purchases are handled entirely by Apple or Google. Shift Ledger receives only whether a purchase exists. We never see your payment details. A purchase applies to the store you bought it from; with no account there is nothing to link two stores.
Advertising
The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob. To select and measure those ads and to prevent fraud, the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects the following and shares it with Google: your device's IP address (which can indicate your approximate location), your device advertising identifier and app set ID, how you use the app and its ads (such as app launches, taps and ad views), and diagnostic information about how the app and the SDK perform. This data is encrypted in transit. None of your shift or pay data is included. Where local law requires it — including the EEA, the UK and Switzerland — you are asked for consent before any ad is requested, and you can change that answer at any time under Settings → Privacy choices. If consent is refused or unavailable, no ads are requested. Buying Pro removes ads entirely.
Google's handling of that data is described in Google's privacy policy.
Children
Shift Ledger is a tool for people in paid employment and is not directed to children.
Deleting your data
There is no account to delete. Settings → Delete all data erases your pay profile and every shift from the device. Uninstalling the app does the same.
Changes
Material changes to this policy will be published on this page with a new date.
